About: WATCH CLIPS FROM SELECTED PROGRAM SHORTS The compulsion to collect and the attempt to put one's life together after disaster come out of the same desire-to gather together what has been thrown asunder. The people in these films, from an estranged couple attempting to raise their daughter with a minimum of rancor to an avid collector of animal bones, are all trying to find the missing link that will render them whole. Also included here is Lars von Trier's hysterical short created for the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Death Valley Superstar A creatively realized and troubling cinematic study of actor Marc Frechette, whose short life eerily mirrored the role he played in Antonioni's Zabriskie Point. Alexandra The currently separated mother and father of a young girl navigate the treacherous waters of co-parenting in this painfully honest work from the director of Tube with a Hat (SFIFF 2007).
